Al Horford signs with Atlantic Division Rival 76ers

According to ESPN, Five-time NBA All-Star center Al Horford has agreed to a four-year $109 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The has $97 million in guaranteed money and $12 million in bonuses. The Celtics did offer Horford a four year deal to stay in Boston, but it did not have as much guaranteed money, league sources said. Horford spent the past three years with the Celtics, where he declined his $30 million option for next season to become a free agent. Horford spent the first nine years of his career with the Atlanta Hawks before signing with the Boston Celtics in 2016. Last season, he averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He will be joining the young core of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in Philadelphia.
